I-5 Rest Stop

Image
This was taken in the morning at a rest stop off the I-5 near Mt. Shasta.  With my T7i again, f 8.0 1/250th, ISO 100 and 42mm with the pl filter.

Devil's Lake

Image
I should have used my tripod here, an f-stop of 5.6 resulted in a 1/50th shutter speed in the early morning hours... So trying for depth of field and sharpness I got neither for the most part.  Anyway, most of my Devil's lake pictures aren't what I wanted, but this one works OK.  I liked the overall framing, calm theme with the welcoming orange light in the home across the lake.

Moorea Catamaran

Image
Another favorite using the Cannon XP point and shoot.  Taken in the Moorea Lagoon in October of 2017 while snorkeling.  This lagoon is perfect for snorkeling considering its only a few feet deep... in fact the catamaran that took us out ran aground and bent a prop on the way back. Anyway, warm shallow water with an amazing variety of wildlife, it was a one of the best stops on the trip.

Blue Stormcoast

Image
Another Oregon Coast photo... Between Newport and Lincoln City.  Taken with my T7i, 21mm, ISO 100, F/4.5, 1/4000 sec and then adjusted just slightly in Lightroom to bring out the blues.

Hawaiian Surge

Image
I have a cannon XP waterproof point and shoot that I bought for pictures while snorkeling for a long trip in 2017.  This is a favorite of mine from it, during my long October 2017 trip, taken while on the way back from snorkeling.  I was hanging from the side of a Zodiac that was close to shore when we came up on an amazing blowhole.  I got a whole series, this is at it surge's peak, below is at it's ebb.

Crabpots in Newport Harbor

Image
After the storm many of the commercial crabbers brought in their pots for a time.  My sister and brother-in-law were driving me about and suggested this as a interesting shot, taken near sunset with my T7i.

Tree at Sunset in Lilly King Park

Image
As part of my photography class I was asked to "work a scene" close to home.  Not too many places closer than the park at the end of my block. I took an original of this tree from the opposite side mid-day and it was pretty awful.  I couldn't seem to get anything interesting.  Then I realized I could wait for sunset and get something worthwhile… It got a decent grade and so I'm happy with it.

Lincoln City, Oregon

Image
Taken during the Christmas 2018 trip to the Oregon Coast, this clump of trees is among the more popular landscapes in the region.  Taken with my T7i at 11am on a day with overcast and drizzle. 44mm, ISO 160, f/5.6, 1/160 sec. I used Lightroom CC on the JPEG to make the color radiant bluer toward the center and increase the contrast of the rocks.

Newport Bay Bridge, Newport OR

Image
Along the Oregon Coast, Newport has a number of excellent landscape opportunities.  This was taken on Dec 21st, 2018 at 2:30 pm with my T7i, no filters, ISO 100 f/4.0 at 1/160 sec.
